Not Just the Best Pizza in Huntington Beach
Beachwood is more than just the best pizza in Huntington Beach. We’re fans of the brand because Beachwood gives back to the community, supporting groups throughout the local area.
It hosts community-based organizations from high school sports teams and dance academies during fundraising days. Beachwood donates 20% of the food proceeds from that day to the organization. It’s a. contribution Beachwood Pizza runs multiple times a month, allowing locals to play their part in supporting these groups.
We recently attended a fundraiser at Beachwood for Marina High School’s baseball team and met Lisa Vealz, a teacher and volunteer for the school’s baseball booster club.
She told us that “we have many different fundraisers throughout the year to offset the costs of a year-round High School baseball program. Unfortunately, the district no longer provides adequate funds for running sports programs”.
Vealz explained how she sets up monthly restaurant partnerships throughout the academic year to help raise funds, “The money we raise goes to field maintenance and equipment, uniforms, coaches’ salary, umpires, tournaments, events, and many other things throughout the year. We even have to buy the baseballs that the three teams need for their games and practices”.
She shared that “without the support of amazing places like Beachwood Pizza, we would have to cut some programs, coaches, and opportunities for our players and teams.”
Beachwood isn’t just the home of the best pizza in Huntington Beach – it’s also at the heart of our community.
