A Chat with Whitney Van Buren: Nutrition Coaching

Whitney Van Buren of Well with Whit

When it comes to maintaining a healthy lifestyle, nutrition is key. But for many of us, it can feel daunting and overwhelming. That’s where Whitney Van Buren, the brilliant mind behind ‘Well With Whit,’ comes in. Whitney is a certified nutrition coach with an impressive 12-week nutrition coaching program designed to help people reach their health and wellness goals. We sat down with Whitney to learn about her coaching program and favorite local Huntington Beach spots for healthy choices when dining out.

When did you move to Huntington Beach and how did you get into health and fitness?

“I am originally from Omaha, Nebraska but moved to Huntington Beach in 2018. I’ve struggled with body image my whole life and my weight fluctuated up and down. I fell in love with fitness and started to loose weight and build muscle when I joined Wellbee Fitness, located in Huntington Beach. I had no idea how to fuel my body. I developed an eating disorder and eventually hit rock bottom. I started educating myself on proper nutrition and began learning how to fuel my body.”

What made you start ‘Well With Wit’?

“I started working as a fitness instructor at Wellbee Fitness and then started studying to become a certified nutrition coach. I officially became certified and started my nutrition coaching business ‘Well With Whit’. I create a personalized 12-week program to help people figure out how much protein, carbs, and fat they should be eating to hit their goals. I have weekly check-ins to keep my clients on track. It’s so rewarding to see my clients hit their goals in a healthy way by educating them so that they can apply it for the rest of their lives.”

In Huntington Beach where do you go where can feel confident making healthy choices when dining out?

“One of the most challenging things about staying on track is what to eat if you are on the go. In the morning when I need a quick pick me up, I love going to Vacancy Coffee and getting a Chagaccino which is sweetened with monkfruit and high in antioxidants. Their energy bites are delicious and great for a snack. My favorite restaurant is Irrasae Sushi where I get their Tres Amigos Roll, Ichiban Roll, or their Poke Salad. If I am looking for a shake I go to Luv Nutrition they have the BEST protein shakes in town with so many different flavors to choose from.”

If you’re looking to make a change in your life, consider reaching out to Whitney for her nutrition coaching program.
